Responsibilities

• Join pieces of metal together using welding techniques such as MIG (metal inert gas) welding, TIG (tungsten inert gas) welding and electric arc welding.
• Install or repair various items made of metal such as tools, machines, vehicles and structures.
• Operate welding equipment to cut and shape metal parts according to specifications.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of different types of welding techniques such as arc welding, oxyacetylene welding, etc.
• Ability to read blueprints or engineering drawings.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
