Job Summary:

Reporting to the Early Learning and Childcare Centre Manager, the incumbent is responsible for developing initiatives and opportunities for the protection, enhancement and preservation of the Tlingit Language. The incumbent is responsible for the implementation of the recommendations of the Tlingit Language Implementation Plan that is authorized by TTC that is specific to young children and families. The coordinator works with the Department to provide a safe and nurturing environment that fosters the child’s physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and cultural development. All Language and Culture program staff, including the coordinator are expected to participate in all language and cultural training and event activities.

Job Knowledge and Skills:
