Purpose of Position

:To provide surgical scheduling services in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with departmental procedures while providing outstanding customer service to all existing and potential MACC patients.

Description

:

· Schedule surgical appointments for the practice

· Obtain reports of lab work, X-ray, EKG reports by primary care doctor, cardiologist, etc. and fax to the appropriate facilities

· Obtain surgical authorizations in accordance with insurance company guidelines to ensure proper financial clearance

· Communicate with referring providers regarding scheduling and completion of surgeries

· Check-in and check-out patients as needed; responsibilities will include verifying and obtaining insurance and demographic information, collecting co-payments, and scheduling follow-up appointments
