Summary About the Position: This position is located in Alexandria, VA- Headquarters office, the Director office of the General Counsel. Responsibilities Serves as the Principal Deputy General Counsel, DoD Education Activity (DoWEA) Directs OGC operations and assists the General Counsel providing a full range of legal services to the Director, DoWEA, and other members of the DoWEA leadership team worldwide, in support of DoWEA’s mission to operate accredited schools and ensure all school-aged children of military families are provided a world-class education Provides legal advice in the areas of general administrative law; ethics; education and special education law; labor and employment; procurement; and alternative dispute resolution Drafting legal memoranda; interpreting statutes, contracts, and judicial opinions; and advising on standards of conduct and conflict of interest matters Represent DoWEA in administrative or judicial fora such as the Board of Contract Appeals, the Merit S...
