About the Role

Step into a world of history and adventure with the Lady of the Lake, a timeless vessel that has graced Lake Whakatipu's waters since 1912. Our commitment to excellence shines through every aspect of our operation, especially when it comes to the heart of the ship – the historic engine room.

As a vital member of our team, you will take on the role of a stoker, responsible for hand‑fuelling the fires and operating the engine & boilers that power the TSS Earnslaw. You will provide fuel for the TSS Earnslaw’s fireboxes, attend to the boilers, engines, and auxiliary equipment, and respond to guest queries about the history and workings of the TSS Earnslaw.

Worried about not having the right certificates or prior experience? Don’t be, we will train you from scratch, and before long you will be getting stuck in anywhere you are needed and be able to assist in all operations of the boat, from decks to dishes.
