**Job Summary and Qualifications**

+ **Specimen handling and preparation:**
+ **Picks up specimens from designated areas.**
+ **Properly accessioning, labeling, and handling a variety of specimens (i.e. surgical, biopsy).**
+ **Assisting in the preparation of frozen sections during intraoperative consultations, within established protocol and procedural parameters.**
+ **Labels slides and blocks appropriately**
+ **Make sure stains are ready to use**
+ **Performs staining of frozen section slides**
+ **Makes sure cases with surgical and cytology are together prior to distribution**
+ **Performs slide distribution for pathologist**
+ **Slide and block filing**
+ **Prepare slides and blocks for referrals**
