SKILLED LABOURER (ENVIRO DEPOT) – PUBLIC WORKS

Reports to: Public Works Supervisor.
Department: Public Works.
Classification: PERMANENT Full Time; Unionized.
Salary: $32.91/hour per Schedule A.

Responsibilities

• Work at the Bulk Item and Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) depot, assisting, educating and directing members of the public on proper use of the site and disposal procedures.
• Handle and prepare Household Hazardous Waste, identifying substances, labeling for shipping, ensuring safe storage, and containing hazardous material spills.
• Maintain site cleanliness and address spills or debris that may pose injury or environmental risk.
• Perform minor repairs at the Enviro Depot facility and handle monetary transactions for service fees using a debit machine.
