Position Overview

Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer service skills: 

  • Customer service skills are the core skills of a good automotive service advisor.
  • This means the ability to communicate effectively, maintain a professional demeanor, remain patient and empathize with customer complaints or misunderstandings.

Automotive training: 

  • Automotive service advisors help customers understand the needs of their vehicles and any necessary repairs. This requires automotive training so that the advisor understands these concepts and can properly communicate them to the customer in a way they can understand.

Computer and software skills: 

  • Automotive service advisors will usually work with company software to put in work orders, create invoices, schedule appointments and more. This requires basic computer and software skills and attention to detail to ensure the right parts are being ordered and the prices match customer expectations....
