Summary The Lead Veterans Claims Examiner (VCE) serves as the primary contact and subject matter expert for the Veteran and is the main decision-maker for the full range of education claims. The Lead VCE explains benefit programs and entitlement criteria, conducts interviews, identifies issues, develops and gathers relevant evidence from multiple sources, independently adjudicates claims and authorizes payments, and inputs data as necessary to generate award and notification letters to Veterans. Responsibilities Specific duties include: Reviews and authorizes unusually complex or difficult education claims. Makes determinations where decisions may be debatable because of the complexity of information and interpretation of law.
