A Wholesale Supplier organisation located in Johannesburg is currently looking for an Assistant Financial Manager/Senior Accountant. An Accounting Degree + SAICA Articles is mandatory for this role. This role also requires staff management, with about 5-7 people reporting to the successful individual. Experience working on advanced MS Excel is a requirement, specifically in terms of the VLOOKUP function as well as experience working with Pivot Tables.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Step in and take over the management of the finance department
• Managing a Finance Team of about 5 to 7 people
• Managing the general ledger as a whole and its structure
• Approving journals
• Approving payments - monthly creditors and ad hoc weekly payments
• Reviewing creditor reconciliations
• Enforcing financial policies and controls
• IFRS experienced (including for SME's)
• Calculating income tax
