**Job Description :**

**GENERAL OVERVIEW:**

Provides initial and continual on-the-job operational training to schedulers. Responsible for all aspects of coordinating procedures, surgical scheduling, and coordination between any and all necessary departments, ensuring completeness of items such as, but not limited to: documentation, block utilization, obtaining authorizations, medical clearances, required testing, and any special or complex circumstances.

**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:**

+ Schedules procedures/surgical cases.
+ Ensures smooth and complete process of surgical/procedure scheduling.
+ Coordinates with all departments to ensure documentation, block release/utilization, authorization, clearances, or any unusual circumstances (denials, authorizations, self-pay questions etc.) are in place prior to procedure.
