Christchurch City Council’s Three Waters team is responsible for delivering safe, reliable drinking water, as well as wastewater and stormwater services, to communities across Christchurch and Banks Peninsula. This work is critical to protecting public health, supporting environmental outcomes, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

About the role

As a Sampling Technician, you’ll play an important role supporting drinking water quality monitoring through field and laboratory‑based activities. This role focuses on ensuring water samples are collected, processed, recorded, and managed accurately to support compliance, reporting, and public health outcomes. A substantial part of the position involves field work that requires working alone, sometimes in remote locations. Regular on‑call work, and work on rostered weekends and public holidays is required.
