Working nights for 36 hours per week. Weekends and holidays required as scheduled. Experience in CICU/CVICU is preferred. Will accept first-time travelers with strong CVICU experience. Patient age group includes adults and geriatrics. The unit has a capacity of 15 beds, with an average daily census of 10 patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1, up to 3 with stable, lower acuity patients. Common diagnoses include cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, and heart failure. Additional diagnoses include cardiac arrhythmias and myocardial infarction. Advanced therapy workups include LVAD and heart transplants. Special procedures in the unit include bedside central line insertions, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, and Swan/Ganz catheter insertion.
