Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse is a practitioner who is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an ambulatory procedural environment. This individual demonstrates competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population undergoing procedures. Responsibilities may include performing, assisting with, and/or monitoring procedures, providing on-call coverage, administering complex IV therapy, telephone triage, and providing patient and family education and coordination of care. Competencies for the RN Ancillary Float Pool - Ambulatory Services may include, but are not limited to, pre- and post-procedure assessment, vascular access and central-line management, complex infusion therapy, phlebotomy, moderate sedation and post-procedure recovery, care coordination and teachback methods, point of care testing, and procedure-specific instruments and equipment needed for patient care.
