**The Department of Mechanical Engineering has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Scientist/Engineer 2 to join their team.**

**About this Opportunity**

Reporting to Dr. Aniruddh Vashisth, the Research Scientist/Engineer 2 supports multiple research projects focused on: (1) developing novel vitrimer formulations and chemistries; (2) examining RF-enabled manufacturing and synthesis; and (3) investigating the structure-property-processing relationships of sustainable polymer systems.

**Key Responsibilities**

+ Experimental Research and Materials Characterization (50%)
+ Design, plan, and conduct experiments on vitrimer synthesis, fiber-reinforced composite fabrication, and RF-enabled manufacturing processes, including sample preparation, thermal and mechanical testing, and spectroscopic characterization (FTIR, DMA, DSC, TGA, SEM, XRD)
