Requirements

• Senior/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Independent Practice (Medical Practitioner).
• Proof of current registration with the HPCSA from 01 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.
• Successful completion of the CMSA Surgical Primary examinations and General Surgery Intermediate examinations is an added advantage.
• Joint appointment between the University of Pretoria (Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Paediatric Surgery) and Steve Biko Academic Hospital.
