Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Nurses in the MICU care for some of the highest acuity patients in the hospital. Care is provided for a broad range of diagnoses and nurses will have the opportunity to gain experience using advanced equipment such as Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Ventricular Assist devises, and Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS). The standard nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 with the most critical patients being cared for on a 1:1 basis. We pride ourselves on our culture of teamwork.
