Overview

Radiologists in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) belong to the Medical Specialist occupation and provide diagnostic and consultative patient care services for CAF members. They work closely with Medical Radiation Technicians and have the opportunity to be leaders within CAF Health Services, serving as mentors and educators to the full spectrum of military health‑care providers.

• Ensure accurate, rapid radiological interpretation of multimodality imaging, including CT, ultrasound, and X‑ray.
• Help guide surgical and medical treatment at Canadian Forces Health Services Clinics or while deployed on international, peacekeeping or humanitarian operations.
• Maintain a high level of clinical currency by holding a position within a civilian health‑care facility.
• Provide interventional skills for minimally invasive therapeutic treatment of injuries on overseas missions when required.
