Responsibilities: Source direct materials for projects and workshop operations. Arrange inspections and certification renewals for statutory equipment (e.g., lifting gears, lifting equipment). Experience and knowledge in sourcing, fabrication, and machining of equipment and tools. Experience and knowledge in sourcing various grades of raw materials, including hull structural steel, pipes, fittings, fasteners, etc. Identify, select, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure best cost, quality, and service. Plan delivery schedules, expedite orders, and maintain alternate sources of supply. Manage purchase order processes in line with ISO standards, including documentation and filing. Support administrative tasks such as document matching, record control, and reporting. Recommend improvements in purchasing practices to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
