About the role

As a Protection Technician, you will join our highly skilled Substation Services team, in supporting the reliable and effective operation of our network and associated substations. This role includes maintaining and testing relays and protection schemes, along with commissioning brand new schemes as part of capital works.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Competent in testing, commissioning, and fault‑finding of electricity distribution protection systems and relays
• Able to interpret protection settings, schematics and network diagrams to perform field work safely and accurately
• Demonstrates strong electrical safety leadership, including effective hazard identification, isolation and risk control
• Investigates protection operations and faults, providing clear analysis and technical feedback
• Works effectively with SCADA systems and coordinates closely with network operations and engineering staff
