The Computational Biology Group at CIC bioGUNE seeks a highly skilled and motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on an exciting project that aims at the development of computational approaches for designing neuronal cell conversion protocols. The selected candidate will develop a computational platform to identify hierarchical combinations of cell fate conversion factors, which will in turn be used to engineer highly specialized neuronal subtypes for cell transplantation therapies in animal models of Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, and epilepsy. To achieve this goal, the candidate will combine a gene network‑based approach with a machine learning model (foundational model) to propose protocols for the sequential induction of transcription factors to generate desired cell subtypes.
