Position Overview
Postdoctoral research fellow positions are available to study neurobiology and epigenetic mechanisms of chronic pain and hypertension. Candidates should have solid graduate training in epigenetics, protein biochemistry, cellular imaging, or neurophysiology and a strong publication record using molecular biology, patch-clamp electrophysiology, or proteomics approaches. Ongoing studies include epigenetic and transcriptional control of gene expression related to chronic pain, ion channel physiology, synaptic plasticity, and cardiovascular control and hypertension development.
Hands-on learning of rodent models of chronic pain and hypertension; hands-on learning of experimental skills, includingmolecular biology, epigenetics, and electrophysiology; data and statistical analyses; critical reading of pain and hypertensionliterature; effective manuscript witting.
