The Phlebotomist I plays a key role in safely collecting, processing, and handling patient specimens while supporting smooth laboratory workflow. This position performs venipunctures and other specimen collections, ensures accurate labeling and processing, maintains compliance with safety regulations, and provides courteous, clear communication to patients and healthcare staff in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

+ Perform blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles in accordance with established procedures.

+ Collect and store blood, urine, fecal, and other specimens following standard protocols.

+ Clearly and courteously explain venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures to patients.

+ Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes to ensure accurate test ordering and processing.
