We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join our team in Sacramento, California. This contract to hire position offers the opportunity to manage full-cycle payroll processes, ensure compliance with multi-state payroll regulations, and contribute to the overall accuracy of financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll systems, tax reporting, and general ledger reconciliations.


Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly payroll, including deductions, garnishments, and accruals for vacation and sick leave.

• Ensure accurate payroll tax calculations and reporting for federal and multi-state requirements, specifically in California and Nevada.

• Handle manual payroll checks, funding requirements, and positive pay processes.

• Collaborate with supervisors and staff to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
