Job Description

The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University is
seeking an individual to teach a section of BDJ TV & Digital News Reporting I during the
Fall semester (4 credits).

Class meets on Mondays 8:25am-11:05am; Thursday and Fridays 2:00pm-6:00pm; there is also live lab scheduled on Thursdays 8:30am-11:00pm.

Course Description: This course teaches BDJ master’s students how to produce broadcast news packages and also report those stories via social media and multimedia web stories. In addition, students take part in live TV reporting drills.

This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local United. Qualifications

Master’s degree preferred.

Bachelor’s degree with relevant industry experience will also be considered.

Job Specific Qualifications

University level teaching experience is a plus.
