Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, measures pupil distance and bridgewidth, adjusts eyeglass frames and assist patients in selecting optical items to conform with corresponding optical prescriptions and established procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:



+ Assists patient with optical selections.


+ Recommends and displays various designs, colors, and shapes of eyeglass frames available and compatible to patients prescription and facial features.


+ Quotes prices from fee schedules.


+ Neutralizes spectacles with lensometer and performs measurements with pupilometer, distometer, and other progressive optical measuring devices.


+ Records frame, lens specification and other related items such as non-prescribed dark glasses and cleaning fluids.


+ Examines glasses received from laboratory to insure conformority with prescription.
