Ensures safe and legal handling of dangerous goods-hazardous materials including proper separation, palletizing, and aircraft and-or truck loading. Provides clerical and administrative support for station operations, ensuring all dangerous goods paperwork is completed accurately and timely and properly distributed to all necessary parties. May perform clean-up, regulated waste activities, and other duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Determines acceptability of declared dangerous goods packages via visual inspection and use of checklist or compliance application as required. Monitors other packages for potentially dangerous goods via visual inspection, handling, and accompanying paperwork. When deemed safe and necessary, opens packages with manager’s approval to identify rejected shipments and process accordingly.
