Purpose of the Job The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing and improving clients’ ability to perform daily activities, enhance cognitive function, and promote independence in a day care or day rehabilitation setting.
Key Responsibilities 1. Client Assessment & Care Planning
- Assess activities of daily living (ADLs), cognition, and functional independence
- Develop individualised occupational therapy care plans
- Participate in interdisciplinary assessments
2. Therapy Intervention
- Train clients in ADLs such as dressing, bathing, eating, and grooming
- Provide cognitive stimulation and memory strategies
- Recommend and train in use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions
