Position Overview
Job Summary
The APN will conduct comprehensive health assessments aimed at health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnose and manage common acute illnesses, with referral as appropriate and manage stable conditions. The APN may perform minor procedures for which he/she has been trained if within his/her licensure and the scope of the supervising or collaborative physician. In the provision of these services, APNs may order, conduct, and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests and prescribe pharmacologic agents, treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies. Educating and counseling individuals and their families regarding healthy lifestyle behaviors are key components of APN care. These services will be provided under a Standard of Care Agreement with a supervising or collaborating physician as appropriate.
