Main duties of the job
- To provide support to all clinical staff
- Ensure computers are made ready, telephones diverted and re-diverted, rooms opened for surgeries to commence
- Deal with all incoming and outgoing post
- Enter updated patient information onto the practice clinical system
- Receive telephone calls, take messages and respond to enquiries
- Receive and deal with any requests for repeat medication as appropriate to the role
- Deal with all ambulance booking requests
- Ensure collection and distribution of any specimens received
- Arrange and maintain appointment systems for the primary care team – booking and cancelling appointments where appropriate
