About the Role

Amazon's internal design services team invents solutions for unique unmet needs within Amazon's operations environment. We seek a customer-obsessed hardware design engineer with proven expertise in mechanical design, manufacturing, and automation who thrives in cross-functional teams and invents simple solutions for complex problems.

Key job responsibilities
Customer Focus & Requirements Gathering
* Investigate customer problems from the customer and stakeholder perspective
* Translate learnings into data-driven product requirements

Design & Development
* Own design, prototyping, and validation of bespoke solutions
* Balance tradeoffs between speed, cost, performance, and supply chain risks
* Develop Build to Print packages for scaled production
* Conduct Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), maintenance, and cost analysis to optimize total cost of ownership
