Position Overview
- Supervising and managing the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and treasury
- Monitoring and analyzing accounting data to produce accurate financial reports or statements
- Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
- Coordinating and completing annual audits
- Meeting financial standards by providing accounting department annual budget information, monitoring expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
- Improving systems and procedures and initiating corrective actions
