GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs various machinist duties incident to fabrication, repair, or modification of engineer, motor transport, weapons, and accessories requiring the use of various types of standard and special machine tools and related attachments. Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower-level machinists. Assists higher level machinists. Performs other tasks as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

+ High school graduate or equivalent.

+ Successful completion of machinist apprenticeship (technical certification).

+ Eight years of directly related work experience.

+ Complete the Machinist Course or equivalent.

+ Knowledge of the makeup of blueprints and drawings and the skill necessary to interpret them.

+ Ability to work from specifications, sketches, models of parts to be manufactured or work orders.
