Correctional Facility Nurse

This position is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on incentive and night shift differential pay. Internal candidates in the same classification and/or pay grade as the position posted will not receive a pay adjustment if selected.

Renders general nursing care to inmate patients in a correctional facility. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques to promote the physical and mental health of the inmate population.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs nursing services, such as obtaining vital signs, wound care, IV therapy, collecting blood, urine, sputum and stool specimens, respond to emergencies in the facility, and gathering other subjective and objective data from patients to insure needs are met in accordance with clinical guidelines, as well as duties imposed by the state and federal laws and regulations and OCCD administrative procedures.
