JOB DESCRIPTION This position is accountable for delivering patient care according to established policies and procedures. The position is responsible for carrying out direct physical cares, administration of medications and treatments according to physician's orders, documentation of resident needs and conditions, and when indicated, direction of other non-licensed personnel on the nursing unit. This position may be designated as responsible/ charge on a unit on a particular shift, but is accountable to the LPN for monitoring and RN for supervision.

Communicate on a regular basis with the charge nurse regarding observations and suggestions of problem areas, resident and employee activities, concerns, needs, conditions, etc.

Observe residents' medical, mental and emotional conditions and communicate changes to appropriate staff. When indicated is responsible for notifying the supervisor and family members according to prescribed procedures.
