The Program of Social Sciences at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an on-going basis throughout the 2026/27 academic year. 

The Social Sciences Major is an interdisciplinary program which aims to provide students with a broad understanding and appreci­ation of the perspectives offered by multiple social sciences disciplines on contemporary social issues. Students choose a Primary Field and two Secondary Fields from ten disciplines: anthropology, border studies, communication, geography, history, linguistics, political science, psychology, sociology, and women's, gender, and sexuality studies.
