Position Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

Collects, washes, presses and stocks linens used by staff and patients throughout the Health Center on a daily basis. Maintains linen, including inspecting and making repairs or requesting replacements. Reports directly to the Lead Laundry Worker.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Checks and replenishes stock levels in all linen closets and linen-using programs on a regular basis.
  • Operates flat iron, steam press, large capacity washers, and dryers.
  • Washes, sorts and folds a variety of linen for patient care and staff usage at the Health Center and Long Term Care.
  • Mends and fabricates linen, drapes, gowns, uniforms, etc. as required.
  • Maintains laundry area in a clean and orderly manner.
