Position Overview
This position is a Hilo-Waiakea Complex Area Special Education Resource Teacher position. The teacher will support 17 school PreK-12 in the Hilo-Waiakea complex area. The focus of the position will be 60% in schools providing professional development, observing, modeling, and coaching teachers in behavioral (focus) and academic strategies for students with disabilities. Additionally, assisting teachers with developing and implementing student support plans (formerly behavior support plans), collecting data for goals and objectives, and supporting data analysis. Further, 15% of the time is focused on researching evidence-based practices, data collection methodologies, and developing professional development/coaching materials.
