HGV Shunter Driver

Temporary role in Skelmersdale from August to December 2026, working 4 on 4 off (2pm‑10pm shift). Pay is £16.25 per hour inclusive of holiday pay.

Responsibilities

• Move and position vehicles safely within the yard and/or depot.
• Couple and uncouple vehicles.
• Communicate with drivers and other staff to ensure safe movements.
• Check for and report any vehicle damage.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid HGV 1/CE licence, DCPC & Tacho cards.
• At least 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than 6 points and no DD/DR Code convictions.
• Compliance with on‑site health and safety requirements.
• Understanding of driver hours and WTD legislation.
