Support Indigenous Justice efforts as a Full-Time Legal Assistant with the BC First Nations Justice Council in Cranbrook, BC. Engage with criminal law and child protection cases in a nurturing work environment.
In this vital role, the Legal Assistant will collaborate with lawyers and the interdisciplinary Client Services Team at the Indigenous Justice Centres. This full-time position focuses on administrative support in legal cases pertinent to First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples. You will be integral to upholding the values of justice and equity within legal processes, while maintaining important client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and manage legal documents and client records
• Ensure timely updates and compliance in Clio management software
• Arrange meetings and court appearances for lawyers
• Contribute to community-focused initiatives and events
