JOB DESCRIPTION

The Event Communications Coordinator will coordinate communications for the IUCN World Protected and Conserved Areas Congress 2027. This is a fixed-term position running from 1 September 2026 to 1 November 2027

The incumbent will report to the Senior Global Communications Manager (press and content) in the Global Communications Unit and work closely with the Global Convenings and Events Unit and functional reporting to the Regional Office for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean ORMACC. He/she will work closely with the Host country, the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA), external contractors and others across the Union to develop and coordinate effective communications and promotions before, during and after the event.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
