Position Summary
The Equipment Operator’s primary function is to operate heavy equipment at the site of work to construct, repair and maintain the railroad track. Operators are also expected to assist in other duties around the job site as needed. This position is considered as a novice level.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Inspects, maintains, and operates maintenance equipment such as backhoes and loaders. Operates equipment to move, load, or unload material or perform other rail related maintenance tasks. Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures. Takes actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
