At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature.
As Engineer in Charge of the CERN Proton Synchrotron (PS), you will contribute to the safe, efficient and performance-driven operation of the accelerator, combining operational follow up, technical problem solving, performance analysis and software development.
You will play an active role in improving PS operation through data driven analysis, high level control applications and automation-oriented developments, with the aim of making operation more robust, reproducible and efficient.
