Electronic & Instrumentation Technicians are responsible for maintaining the electronic and control equipment at MPC and MPLX owned light products and asphalt terminals. E&I Technicians provide the expertise to install, repair, replace, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on terminal equipment that is beyond what terminal operations personnel's capabilities. Typical equipment that is maintained by E&I techs includes: Terminal Control Systems, network hardware, electronic presets, tank gauging and high-level alarm systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), card readers, touch screens, and more. Changes in assigned terminals/coverage areas do occur at times for training purposes as well as to balance workload with other E&I Technicians.
