Position Overview
Key Responsibilities - Administer and maintain IBM DB2 databases on z/OS platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and operational stability of business-critical applications.
- Perform database performance monitoring and tuning activities, including SQL optimization, access path analysis, buffer pool tuning, tablespace management, RUNSTATS, REORG, COPY, and other DB2 utility operations.
- Review, analyse, and optimise complex SQL statements developed by application teams to improve query efficiency, reduce resource consumption, and meet performance service levels.
- Design and implement database objects including tablespaces, databases, tables, indexes, views, aliases, and referential integrity structures to support application development and enhancement initiatives.
