Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Data Protection Officer (DPO) to provide independent oversight of the Council’s compliance with data protection legislation and information governance requirements.

Reporting to the Assistant Director – Governance, the successful candidate will act as the Council’s designated Data Protection Officer in accordance with UK GDPR requirements, providing expert advice across the organisation, monitoring compliance, and serving as the principal point of contact with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
