Key Responsibilities and Duties: File Pre-flighting:
Reviewing client-supplied files (e.g., PDF, AI, PSD) to check for proper resolution (300+ DPI), font integrity, bleed, and color accuracy. Creating Proofs:
Producing 'soft' (PDF) or 'hard-copy' (physical inkjet) proofs that closely simulate the final printed product. Color Management:
Adjusting images and layouts from RGB (screen) to CMYK (print) or spot colors to match brand standards and ensure color consistency. Imposition:
Arranging pages or design elements on a larger sheet to optimize paper usage and ensure correct folding and binding. Troubleshooting & Correction:
Fixing layout issues, trapping, or file errors and collaborating with clients or designers on necessary adjustments. Platemaking:
If using offset printing, producing physical printing plates (computer-to-plate technology) after approval
