Position Overview
Main duties of the job
- Provide comprehensive counselling services for adults and children, including families known to the Hospice, both pre‑ and post‑ bereavement.
- Support the development of the community and private counselling service.
- Offer counselling to bereaved clients who are not known to the Hospice.
- Facilitate bereavement‑counselling support groups and educational workshops.
- Signpost and refer clients to specialist services when necessary.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of developments in grief counselling, mental health and safeguarding practices.
- Receive regular clinical supervision and line management.
- Participate in continuing professional development activities.
- Contribute to teaching and training on bereavement, grief, and loss.
- Complete mandatory training as defined by HCP policy.
- Deliver counselling training to relevant teams and organisations.
