About the Role and Department
The Gastroenterology Department at Palmerston North Hospital, New Zealand, serves the university town of Palmerston North, and the Manawatū district. We provide quality outpatient gastroscopy and colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, liver elastography, outpatient clinical care, inpatient gastroenterology care and bowel cancer screening services to the 180,000 people in our district. We are affiliated to the University of Otago, have a training gastroenterology registrar in our department, and have a research relationship with Massey University.
