Key Responsibilities

+ Provide psychosocial support/intervention and care to newly diagnosed and established children with type 1 diabetes.
+ Provide the mental health assessment component in interdisciplinary care of patients and makes appropriate referrals for treatment.
+ Provide brief interventions to patients and families during clinic visits.
+ Work closely with Spanish speaking patients and caregivers to support access to healthcare, community resources, and ongoing diabetes education.
+ Participate in and co facilitate group medical visits for Spanish speaking patients and families.
